Currently, the association is raising money to purchase an enclosed trailer for CERT, to be able to take to emergencies calls to have equipment and supplies available on scene. It will also be used to transport other equipment to emergency scenes for the department on an “as needed” basis, such as cribbing, structure collapse equipment, etc. The cost of this trailer is around $3500.00.

C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) was established to train local people in the basics of first response to local disasters and emergencies. To date, over 120 people have completed the CERT course. CERT is funded by small grants, which are used solely for supplies for classes, and individual CERT member backpack supplies, but nothing else.
